Bowl | Sphere | Ring
Well, in this case, a few circles. I got my iPhone to take a few photos outside for the recurring prompt of Where I stand (I wasn't happy with any of them), but while I had the iPhone in camera mode I remembered an earlier prompt of A Circle. On the kitchen bench are a bowl of macadamia nuts yet to be cracked, as well as a wire fruit bowl that's made of circles, and it had oranges in it. So I took one photo of each. The photo of the macadamia nuts looked pretty ordinary, but I thought I could do something with the wire bowl with the oranges.
This is the original photo, which isn't particularly interesting, but I did like the lines and shapes and thought I'd have a play with it in a couple of the camera apps to see how I could change it to make it more visually appealing.
I started by using the Waterlogue app to give the photo a watercolour effect and to start abstracting the subject.
From there I moved the photo to the Distressed FX app to add some texture and other filters and to abstract it further.
And finally to the Snapseed app for further refining with textures and filters.
And hopefully these look more interesting than the very top photo. I think I am slowly overcoming my dislike of using the iPhone camera - but it will never replace my DSLR.
Another week over. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead of you.
